Project grants

Campaign's project grants are available to support innovative research into breast cancer. The researcher should have conducted independent research in the field and wish to build on their history and reputation in the breast cancer area, deepening their knowledge and experience.

Funding is awarded for a clear research proposal of relevance to breast cancer and is expected to lead to a significant advance of understanding of breast cancer and its impact. These awards should expand the levels of knowledge and expertise in breast cancer research in the UK and the Republic of Ireland.

Breast Cancer Campaign is committed to supporting young investigators in breast cancer research and therefore encourage applications from talented, new post-doctoral researchers.

Project grants do not normally exceed £65,000 per annum.

Grant application procedure

* The funding of PhD studentships takes place once a year in the November round. The funds that Campaign will have to support this scheme will be separate from the monies allocated to the project grant programme, therefore there will be equal funds for the project grant awards in both the May and November rounds.
