Breast Cancer Campaign's research achievements

Gap analysis

Campaign’s breast cancer research gap analysis document has been published by the open access journal Breast Cancer Research.

The document entitled ‘Evaluation of the current knowledge limitations in breast cancer research: a gap analysis’ is the product of two and a half year project. It involved around 60 of the key breast cancer scientists in the UK.

The publication outlines where gaps exist in our breast cancer knowledge, which if filled will make a vital difference to those with breast cancer. The paper will be available to researchers and funders throughout the world. Our hope is that it will stimulate a lot new research ideas to help improve our knowledge of breast cancer.

Publications

For publications to be accepted by a journal they have to be rigorously reviewed by a panel of experts. They are a very important way for researchers to share with the scientific community the results they have found - therefore driving forward breast cancer research.

The History of breast cancer

Campaign published The History of Breast Cancer, a 2,000-year chronological snapshot of the key developments on the path to finding a cure. The document aims to help put the value of research into perspective and respond to questions about progress.
